A Step-by-Step Journey to a Happy, Groomed Hound
Our programme is broken down into four distinct visits. This gradual approach ensures your puppy is never overwhelmed and always leaves our salon with a wagging tail.
Visit 1: The Discovery Session (60 Minutes)
The Goal: Curiosity and Comfort
Our first session is all about exploration. We allow your puppy to sniff the equipment and get used to the salon’s sounds while receiving plenty of praise and treats.
- Introduction to the grooming table and equipment.
- Gentle hair trimming under the paws and around the pads.
- A safe, calm nail trim.
- Ear cleaning and gentle handling of the mouth and tail.
- Introduction to the low hum of clipper vibrations (without cutting).
Visit 2: The Bath & Bubbles Session (90 Minutes)
The Goal: Positive Association with Water
Building on the first visit, we introduce your pup to the hydro-massage bath and the drying process.
- Everything from Visit 1.
- A warm bath using gentle, puppy-safe natural shampoo.
- A slow, low-noise blow dry (no drying cabinets used).
- A light spritz of puppy-safe cologne.
Visit 3: The Tidy-Up Session (90 Minutes)
The Goal: Precision and Patience
Now that your pup is comfortable with the bath and dryer, we introduce the scissors for light aesthetic work.
- Everything from Visits 1 and 2.
- A delicate scissor trim around the eyes and feet.
- A sanitary trim to keep them clean and comfortable.
Visit 4: The Full First Groom (2.5 to 3 Hours)
The Goal: The Complete Spa Experience
By the fourth visit, your puppy is typically confident enough for a full styling session.
- A complete haircut tailored to your puppy's breed and coat type.
- 15-Minute Brushing Lesson: We show owners the best techniques for home maintenance.
- Puppy Maintenance Pack: Includes a professional brush, comb, and de-matting spray.
